Take a historical city tour

A fantastic introduction to one of the world’s smallest cities!

Nuuk is a city where old and modern cultures meet and thrive side by side.

The tour starts at Aqqaluks Plads, near the lake.

One of the stops is at Greenland Cathedral (Annaasisitta Oqaluffia), where we’ll hear about its history, and of course we’ll stop at the top of “Qaqqaq” to see the famous Hans Egede statue.

The city walk passes historic buildings, monuments, and statues, such as Hans Egede’s house, the oldest preserved house in Greenland.

We’ll make a brief stop at the statue of “Mother of the Sea” and hear the myth behind it, and we’ll stop at the “old hospital” from the 1930s.

Finally, we’ll reach the modern part of Nuuk, where the government buildings are located, and the tour ends at the monument at Kaassassuk.

There will be brief anecdotes throughout the tour.
