Experience Kapisillit, a small settlement village, deep within the Nuuk Fjord and discover traditional ways of life with your local guide.
Departing from the Tide Water Steps, a short distance from the Nuuk city centre, jump into our comfortable Targa boats, with our knowledgeable local guides who will take you to explore deep into the Nuuk Fjord system, the second largest in Greenland!
During your journey, you can either enjoy the scenery from the warm cabin or enjoy the purest air in the world by relaxing on the outside deck! During your journey, you may catch sights of whales, eagles, seals and reindeer if you are lucky!
Once at Kapisillit, you will have a chance to explore the village, inhabited by around 60 people, giving you the perfect opportunity to learn more about rural Greenlandic life. You experienced local guide will be able to answer any questions you may have on your visit.
Despite the size, there are many things to do in Kapisillit. Go for a walk, visit the church, wonder around the village or just sit and enjoy the beautiful surrounding views, the choice is up to you! There are also great opportunities for longer hiking, fishing and hunting (for these, please ask us for more information!)
About our boats
Our comfortable Targa boats offer a warm luxurious way to travel on the Greenlandic seas. With a maximum of 8 (Targa 32) or 12 (Targa 37) people per boat, you will have an intimate, small-group experience with your local guide.
What to know in advance:
Minimum participants: For our tours to go ahead we need a minimum of 4 people for our Targa 32 and 6 people for our Targa 37. We will inform you in advance if there are not enough people for the tour to go ahead.
Languages: English, Danish and Greenlandic
Toilet Facilities: There is a toilet aboard
Recommended Clothing: The weather can change quickly so please remember to bring warm clothing. The sun in Greenland can be intense so be sure to pack sunscreen and sunglasses.
If you wish to brave the icy waters, you can try swimming from the boat, for this please let us know and bring your own swimming gear.
