Explore one of the world’s most active glaciers

Join a helicopter tour and experience the raw power of nature at Sermeq Kujalleq, one of the most active and productive glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere. This unforgettable journey offers a rare opportunity to soar above towering icebergs and dramatic ice formations, revealing the vast and ever-changing landscape of the Greenland Ice Sheet.

As you fly over the glacier, you’ll gain a unique perspective on its immense scale and significance. Sermeq Kujalleq moves up to 40 meters per day, making it one of the fastest-moving glaciers in the world. It calves more ice into the ocean than any other glacier outside Antarctica, accounting for around 10% of all icebergs in the Northern Hemisphere.

The glacier is also a vital site for climate research, where scientists study the dynamics of ice mass changes and global climate variations. NASA has been monitoring Sermeq Kujalleq for decades, using satellites and aerial measurements to track its rapid development.

When we land at the edge of the Ice Sheet, you’ll have 30 minutes to explore the untouched glacial terrain, breathe in the crisp Arctic air, and take in the silence and majesty of this remote landscape. It’s a moment to connect with nature, reflect on its fragility, and experience Greenland in a way few ever do.
