You'll travel to and explore Ilimanaq, a small settlement located approximately 17 kilometres (11 miles) south of Ilulissat, known for its rich history and culture.
The boat tour to Ilimanaq begins at the harbour starting point in Ilulissat, with comfortable boat. The guide will go through a quick safety and itinerary briefing. and then sails towards Ilimanaq, passing floating icebergs!
Upon arrival at Ilimanaq, the guide will take you on a 3-hour tour of this historic village. Founded in 1741, Ilimanaq is one of Greenland's oldest settlements, once a traditional fishing and whaling village. Today, it's a popular tourist hub, offering luxury cabins with views of Disko Bay, whale watching, and glacier tours.
Learn about the village's important history and the local traditions like fishing and hunting still practised by the community in this remote location.
