Icefjord Cruise

Easy

Sail deep into the Nuukfjord on a serene journey through drifting ice, towering glaciers and endless Arctic silence — a serene experience punctuated by Greenland's raw and ever-changing nature.

Experience a serene boat ride deep into the Nuuk Fjord, where towering mountains, drifting ice and the endless Arctic silence create one of Greenland's most memorable boat trips. When we put the city behind us, the landscape opens up to a remote world of deep blue water, views of glaciers and ever-changing ice formations.

We sail as far into the ice fjord as conditions allow, adapting to the rhythm of nature along the way. With local stories told by our crew and time to simply enjoy the silence, this tour isn't about rushing from place to place — it's about experiencing the fjord the Raw Arctic way: calm, up close and with a genuine connection to the landscape.

What should travelers know before they book?

This is a 6-hour scenic boat tour from Nuuk, designed as a peaceful journey deep into the fjord rather than a fast-paced excursion. The experience is shaped by nature on the day, and route, ice conditions, and possible stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.

We always aim to sail as far toward the icefjord as conditions safely allow. This means that no two departures are ever exactly the same, which is also part of what makes the experience special.

The tour takes place on a heated boat and is best suited for travelers who want to experience Greenland in a calm, authentic, and immersive way, with time to enjoy the silence, scenery, and atmosphere of the fjord.

      What to bring

What to bring on this tour

We recommend dressing warmly in layers, as Arctic weather can change quickly. A windproof jacket, warm hat, gloves, and comfortable outdoor shoes are ideal. Sunglasses are also a good idea on bright days, especially when the light reflects off the water and ice.

You are very welcome to bring your camera or phone, as there are plenty of beautiful photo opportunities throughout the journey.

For extra comfort, we also suggest bringing:

        • A warm mid-layer such as fleece or wool
        • Sunscreen on sunny days
        • Any personal medication you may need
        • A small day bag for your essentials
