Catch & Eat
Catch your lunch, eat it deep in the fjord
This six-hour boat trip pairs fishing in Nuuk Fjord with a meal at one of Greenland's most
remote restaurants.
Lines drop into clear, cold water above some of the fjord's best cod and redfish grounds, and
what you catch becomes lunch. The fishing itself is unhurried. Our local captains know which
stops produce the best catches at which point in the season.
From the boat we sail to Qooqqut Nuan, a peaceful valley restaurant with mountains on every
side. The chef takes your fresh fish, fillets it, and prepares it three ways from a
Greenlandic-Thai menu. The setting is small and warm, the food is honest, and the silence
between courses is part of the meal.
