July 10, 2005 (11:30 PM), STF Hostel Rallarrosen Gällivare 17ºC
I took the evening flight from Stockholm to Gällivare and a cab from the airport to the STF Hostel. The flight was 1.5 hours late. So it will not be a lot of sleep tonight as I will take the bus to Jokkmokk early in the morning. I will then continue by bus from Jokkmokk to Kvikkjokk at lunchtime tomorrow.
It was 10 years since I first hiked the King’s Trail (between Abisko and Nikkaluokta) In 2002 I hiked the northern segment from Abisko to Kvikkjokk. Now it is time to hike the remaining part of the King’s Trail, the segment between Kvikkjokk and Hemavan.
It looks as there are a lot of mosquitos this year. it will be interesting to see how it iwill turn out along the trail.
